Dull Impact 03:28
You form no words A sinking smile These things you want They take a while You feel inside Ignore the scream We waste our lives For someone’s dream Now that you have That end you seek The light is close You take a peek Your bed’s been made Eternal sleep A promise that You’ll never keep

The heroin of greed The hate on which we feed Our want becomes a need Succeed just to exceed As we struggle to breathe Pollute the skies and seas Blame shifts from “they” to “we” We trust in companies We’re running out of room We waste as we consume We crave a market boom We’re causing our own doom I could believe in god But not humanity Poison ideologies One more racist decree Countless in poverty Demons claim divinity Will anyone Take responsibility?

about

Parasitic Overgrowth is an expansion on everything done in the past: it’s a bit moody, dynamic, at times very angry/punk in a lot of ways, but it all kind of comes back to the same feeling of the previous Astronaut King albums.

It was intended to be a darker, spaghetti western and hardcore punk inspired album. The cover of YDI’s “Mad at the World” ties the whole album’s frustrated, pessimistic theme together (many thanks to the band for allowing me to release the cover).

I originally was going to release a new single with vocals, but ended up recording 2 more songs with vocals and a bunch of instrumentals, then lost a majority of the original guitar tracks after mastering everything.
